| Dell Computer |

|
| Dell developed a purchase order and image
processing application around Advantage Database Server. The company receives thousands of
fax orders daily. Before the fax application was implemented, Dell relied on a bank of
manual fax machines. This created two problems. First, faxes were inevitably lost. Second,
there was a delay in responding to these faxed orders. The new fax application automates
the entire process. Thousands of fax pages (70k per page) are received daily and routed
for fulfillment. Each fax is stored for a period of time and later migrated to a CD to be
archived. Advantage was also used to migrate Dell's
internal package tracking/delivery system to client/server. The system has become a
powerful tool for improving efficiency and eliminating theft. Advantage Database Server
was integrated with this application to meet the demanding index requirements. As a result
of these efforts implementing Advantage, Randy Deedon has received two internal employee
awards from Dell.

| Charles Schwab Trust Company |
 |
| With Advantage Database Server, Schwab can
track daily $2 billion+ of 401-K assets on their Asset Valuation System. Advantage allows
Charles Schwab to recalculate securities pricing in just 45 minutes. The Advantage
Database Server has extended the life of this application by accommodating any volume
increases without forcing Charles Schwab to commit to a lengthy and costly implementation
of a traditional SQL server. |

| CyberLogic |
 |
In searching for a database
solution, Cyberlogic was looking for innovative and reliable client/server benefits
without the hassle of having to hire a database administrator. Cyberlogic is the maker of
DataVision, a customer contact management application for car dealer showroom control.
This business environment requires zero administration and therefore exceptional
reliability. Approximately 125 dealers use this software to track sales performance. For
these reasons, Mitsubishi Motors of America has standardized on DataVision.
Cyberlogic chose Advantage Database Server
because it was the only client/server solution that offered them the value and performance
to meet their high standards, while not requiring an in-house DBA. Andy Briggs, partner of
Cyberlogic, states, "There is no room for a DBA with our product. The majority of our
sales would be turned away due to high cost of ownership. Advantage has given us a great
opportunity to compete in this industry."

| Global Investments Systems Ltd. |
 |
Global Investments Systems
Ltd. (GIS), maker of a mutual fund accounting software package for banks and brokerages,
was experiencing a problem with data corruption on the servers at the firm's Windows NT
installations. GIS decided against moving to a standard SQL solution for time-to-market
reasons and because very expensive re-writing of their legacy code would be unavoidable.
Advantage Database Server provided the optimal
solution. The programming changes needed to implement Advantage Database Server were
minimal. Also, because Advantage has its own internal locking system, GIS was then no
longer dependent on Windows NT locking. They quickly saw 20 to 40 times improvement in
performance in multi-user environments.
Global Investment Systems' more than 70
customers, managing hundreds of mutual funds, are all moving to Advantage Database Server
and enjoying the easy deployment and high-speed performance in multi-user environments.

| ICode, Inc. |
 |
Icode, Inc. is a developer of
business and accounting software for small to medium-sized companies with more than 4000
users. Its flagship product, Accware, and companion, Accware Online, are fully integrated
e-commerce and accounting software packages designed for the e-business, retail,
wholesale, distribution, mail-order and service industries.
Ali Jani, VP of Accware Project, stated,
"Advantage Database Server was an easy choice for us. We wanted one database engine
that would allow us to deploy our application in any environment. Advantage allowed us to
deploy as a Web-based application for our e-commerce customers or as a WAN-based server
for our customers in the retail and service industries. After carefully evaluating many
database engines, we chose Advantage due to its performance, reliability, user-friendly
configuration, and support."

| Lucent Technologies |
 |
| Lucent Technologies needed a solid
client/server solution for developing an Internet inventory control system for their
offices throughout the world. After trying a variety of solutions, Lucent chose Advantage
Database Server for its stability, data integrity, and high performance. They have
integrated the Advantage Local Server to capture and keep track of dynamic information
created by users designing their own Web interface, while Advantage Database Server is
used to keep track of usage and interface development. Lucent required a system that would
be able to generate the Web interface for thousands of worldwide users quickly and without
fail. Advantage was the appropriate solution. |

Manheim, a division of Cox Enterprises
|
 |
Manheim Dealer Support
Services, a division of Cox Enterprises, develops the #1 auto auction software in North
America. Manheim's Tracker software (written using Delphi) delivers an easier system for
independent car dealers to manage their business effectively. They've developed a suite of
software solutions that supports every aspect and function in the automobile sales
business, including inventory, management, sales, forms and reports.
After evaluating competitive database engines,
including Sybase and InterBase, Manheim chose Advantage Database Server by Extended
Systems for its leadership in reliability, high performance and cost effectiveness. One of
the key factors that led them to Advantage was that they were be able to move to
client/server and run on Windows, NT, or NetWare.
Manheim recently incorporated Advantage into
its Tracker software application, with rollout to 7,500 dealer sites. "Advantage is
fast, extremely reliable and costs less than other embedded database servers like Sybase
and Microsoft SQL Server. An added benefit is that Advantage requires no ongoing
maintenance, so hiring a database administrator is not necessary," explains Tony
Spotorno, Vice President of Research and Development of Manheim Dealer Support Services.

| Pratt & Whitney |
 |
| Pratt & Whitney wanted to convert a
warehouse management application (to track jet engine parts and FAA paperwork) to
client/server processing. This required implementing the warehouse application in multiple
cities across a WAN. The MIS department was given one year and a budget of $1 million to
complete the project. With Advantage Database Server (and no MIS assistance), George Smith
had everything up and running in six months for under $100,000. |

| Scan Code |
 |
| Scancode Systems develops and implements
distribution, inventory and logistics management systems. Their solution is written in
Xbase++ and Delphi, and operates in an NT and Novell environment. Scancode has implemented
solutions for a wide variety of industries from automotive to pharmaceutical to
institutional with customers including Johnson & Johnson, Timex and Nike. The Scancode system is a well integrated part of Nike's order
fulfillment process. The system has already cut processing time in half for some of its
carriers and inputting invoice information has saved half a day, everyday for one person.
The Advantage Database Server was the best choice for
offering client server support with the system. The Advantage Database Server has provided
unparalleled reliability and performance as the back-end of the Scancode system. It
provides the seamless integration, high performance, ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness and
zero administration they need. "Our product wouldn't be able to perform to its
high-standards if it wasn't for Advantage Database. Advantage Database is the backbone of
our client/server strategy," states Don Kitchen of Scancode.

Sykes Health Plan Services
|
 |
| Sykes Health Plan Services faced a fivefold
increase in database records (50,000 to 260,000 records) so they decided to migrate their
file-server architecture to Client/Server. The equivalent of 300 to 400 people were
"banging" on the database 16 hours per day, six days per week. Once Advantage
was installed, the system averaged 20,000 transactions per day with no recorded data
failures. On peak days, the system processes over 100,000 phone calls. This system
involves both Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and an IVR system. Customers that
are active in the IVR system can transfer to a CSR at anytime and the CSR knows exactly
what action the customer was attempting when transferred. |

|
| Vanstar's application runs their $2 billion
order fulfillment warehouse. The system consists of 39 applications at 4 different sites
across the country. These applications handle all the machinery and automation that
shelves and fulfills orders. Downtime costs $30,000 every half hour. Vanstar implemented
Advantage Database Server to give their application Client/Server functionality. As a
result, the system is now able to process a million transactions a day and downtime has
been eliminated. |
